That's me. On the left of the photo. I suspect you've guessed as much. Evidence would suggest that I've always held differing opinions.
After many years of working for brand communication agencies I was driven to create Second Opinion in 2004 after hearing a talk by seminal designer, Milton Glazer. When you've time I'd recommend you follow the link, but in brief, Milton questioned a successful professional life lived and the key personal lessons picked up along the way.
Second Opinion became my answer to a similar set of dilemmas - including how to free myself from eternal soul-sapping powerpoint presentations and reconnect with the honest basics of graphic design as a craft. The work the studio now produces is shaped by my values; a sense of integrity, refined economy, and a constant playfulness. Thankfully, embracing and promoting these human values means I no longer have to work under the shadow of an identikit corporate mission statement.
Patiently over 10 years Second Opinion has built a diverse roster of lifestyle companies, culture and heritage organisations, together with educational and charity institutes all linked by a shared love and appreciation of intelligent design that uses considered typography to refine honest, simple ideas.
Having previously led creative teams on large projects my strengths lie in swiftly distilling briefs and intuitively creating warm, emotive visual work of the highest quality on budget and on schedule. I'm equally happy working independently or collaboratively, from either my studio, or when applicable, offering creative support within your environment.
If you have a project that could benefit from a fresh pair of eyes then please get in touch.
